The Ottawa Region Walleye League (ORWL) is happy to announce our seventh annual Kids’ Ice Fishing Event scheduled for February 13 2016. Thanks to all involved, despite the cold, last year’s event was a smashing success!
Our annual event aims to introduce young members of our community to the joys of ice fishing while teaching proper fish conservation and laws, together with a deeper appreciation of our natural resources.
Date: February 13 2016 (weather-permitting; any changes to the schedule will be communicated via e-mail and/or our website)
Location: Constance Lake, Constance Lake Lodge side
Time: 9:30am-1:00pm (hot dog and hot chocolate lunch break at 12:00 pm, followed by grab bags and photos)
Who: Open to all youth and their parents. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the event.
Parking: $5 parking is available behind Constance Lake Lodge (payable to the lodge). Vehicles parked on the side of the road may be ticketed. ORWL doesn’t recommend driving on the ice.
Gear: ORWL members will drill holes, and provide fishing equipment and bait. Please feel free to bring your own ice fishing gear so that we can provide rods to other kids who don’t normally have the opportunity to ice-fish.
The ORWL has 50 ice fishing rods available, and therefore will close registration after they are all accounted for. Please register by visiting our registration form and filling out for each participant. We will consider your form to be an electronic “signature” indicating your agreement to the terms..
