Fishing Derby Rules
Teams can fish on any body of water in the Province of Ontario

Teams must all fish on the same body of water within 200m of each other

No use of paid guides allowed

This a multi-species tournament consisting of four targeted species:

– Bluegill/pumpkinseed

– Yellow Perch

– Black Crappie

– Northern Pike

The team will pick their TWO longest fish caught that day from the species list and submit a photo of each.

There must be one measurement photo and one photo of the fish being held by a member of the team.

The team with the longest fish each category will win ONE team prize – a $50 restaurant gift certificate.

Fish must be measured on a bump board or measuring device that clearly shows the entire length of the fish. The mouth must be closed and at the 0 end of the board. The tail must be pinched.

Both the mouth and tail must be visible in the picture

We will add the team “captain” to a closed Facebook group to share information, post questions and share photos.

Do not use fabric measuring tapes

Fish should be measured to the closest 0.5cm or 1/8inch. No rounding up.

Submissions must be sent in to Sara Watson by 5pm that day through Facebook messenger or text 705-931-7434

There will also be a ‘Photo of the Day’ contest. Teams are encouraged to send in pictures throughout the day of the fun they are having to the private Facebook Fam Jam page. These do not have to be pictures with fish.

A prize will be awarded for the best picture at the end of the day. This is to encourage everyone to be active on the private Fam Jam group so we can see all the smiling faces and everyone having a blast fishing.

Results of the tournament will be announced by 8pm that evening

Prizes :

– Longest fish in EACH species will win a $50.00 restaurant gift card so they can enjoy a nice meal with their team

– The ‘Photo of the Day’ prize – $50 restaurant gift card
