The Island Fishing Derby is organized by the St, Joseph Island Hunters and Anglers and includes the waters in contact with the island. The event will run from 6 am on June 30th to 12 noon on July 8th followed by a dinner and presentations. The event includes six fish species, perch, pike, bass, pickerel, salmon and trout and lake herring with prizes for the longest fish in each category. The fish are measured and photographed on a tape measure provided at registration. Once the photo is taken the fish can be released and the photo sent to our web site for inclusion in our fish gallery. Each day the longest fish for each category is posted. This event is open for both adults and children 15 and under. Registration costs are $50.00 for adults and $20.00 for children under 15 with 80 percent payout.
