Zone B is hosting the 4th annual Family Day Ice Fishing event as part of the City of Thunder Bay’s “Snowday at the Waterfront”.

This event provides families, new immigrants and any interested person with an easy opportunity to experience this fun winter activity.

Everything is provided to the new anglers from bait and tackle to on-ice advice and support by volunteers from Zone B. MNRF provide Lake Trout from the Dorion Hatchery which are released into the pond at Marina Park a few days before the event.

This year over 80 Lake Trout will be released!

The location is perfect as it is accessible by public transit, has free parking for whose who drive and washrooms are available steps away.

We anticipate over 1000 participants who will once again enjoy this activity!

Attendance prizes are given out to children as a result of the generosity of local business D and R Sporting Goods and Zone B members. This event is not possible without the support and participation of MNRF staff. Big thanks to all for making this day a huge success!
