CANCELED DUE TO HIGH WATER LEVELS

Through the sponsorship of Kids, Cops and Canadian Tire, the Municipality of Port Hope and the Ganaraska River. The event will include a catch & release fishing derby for children under 17 years of age. The derby will have the following categories, Longest Fish, Shortest Fish, Wildest Fish and Most Fish Caught. Prizes will be awarded in all categories. Participants will be required to registrar on site before they start fishing in order to qualify for a prize. Bait for Derby participants will be provided. Participants will be notified of designated fishing areas once registered.

Members from the Port Hope Police Services will be assisting with the day’s events. The Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority will provide some rods and tackle (Made available through the OFAH Tackle Share Program).

Show your creative side and head over to the Port Hope Public Library Mary J. Benson Branch, as they will hosting different fishing crafts that participants are encouraged to take part in.

Participants are encourages to bring: fishing equipment, life jacket, sunscreen & sense of adventure!
