The fourth annual Island Fishing Derby is a catch and release event that runs the entire free fishing week from July 1 to July 9. The event is held in the Ontario waters in contact with St. Joseph Island and the North shore from Bar River to Thessalon. We supply a measuring tape at registration and a photo of the fish will be sent to our web site www.derby@sjiha.ca for inclusion in our leader board. The longest fish for each category will receive a cash prize and mystery prizes will be selected from the other fish entered. There is an adult and kids category There are 6 fish categories: Perch, Pike, Bass, Pickerel, Salmon (including Trout), and Lake Herring. The entrance fee is $50.00 for adults and $20.00 for kids 15 and under which includes a wrap up dinner on Sunday July 9th at 4 pm. You must pre-register for this derby and registration and payment will take place on Friday June 30th from noon till 8pm and on Saturday July 1st from 8 am till noon at the St. Joseph Island Hunters and Anglers Conservation Centre, 1802 20th side road.
