Join us for a day of adventure on Elbow Lake Environmental Education Centre as you learn how to use an auger, set up an ice hut, rig for panfish, about the equipment you need for ice fishing and much more!

It’s Family Fishing Weekend so you don’t need a fishing license for this event.

This event is for women 18 years of age or older.

Learn how to use an auger, set up a portable ice fishing hut, equipment you’ll need, setting up a rod for panfish and much more!

INCLUDED

– a loaner ice fishing rod (or you can bring your own)

– goodie bag

– lasagna lunch (both meat and veggie provided – (gluten-free is not available), salad, buns, water

– small group instruction

PLEASE NOTE: We will be fishing outside and there will not be ice huts provided. You may bring one if you wish.

FISHING

Black Crappie, Yellow Perch, Bluegill and Pumpkinseed (catch and release only). It is a short walk from the pavilion to the lake.

Elbow Lake is a nature reserve and biological research station so live bait and barbed hooks are not allowed. Fishing is catch and release only.

NO motorized vehicles allowed – ATVs, snowmobiles, snow machines, etc.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Cabins are available for Friday night at a cost of $120/night/cabin. Each cabin has one bedroom with a queen or double and a second bedroom with a twin/queen bunk bed. They can accommodate three (3) people. Washrooms and showers are in the pavilion.

If you are interested in booking a cabin, please indicate so on the registration form.
